Today all of us heading south are all together for the first time. We are sitting in the AAD theatrette for our Pre Departure Briefing. The usual tomorrow we are departing ... this is what happens ... this is what we have to expect ...

The weather forecast is interesting - we are having a nice southern ocean storm in our pathway.
The sea-ice extend in the southern ocean in front of Davis is the largest on record.
We are thus in for the real Antarctic voyage -
Antarctica I am coming
